...This is taking things back to basics, where we learned the alphabet in our nursery years; this series of flash / postcards are designed to teach our young children the dangers and associated risks of alcohol abuse as a way of educating form a very young age...
...this is a very simple and witty way to market the same message to the youth and teenage audience...
"Lose Booze Abuse" is a new alcohol awareness initiative I'm trying to launch under The Label Campaign. This is marketed to the (heavy) spirit drinkers, mainly in a domestic or social situation...
This tee, along with "Tranny” were produced for Gay Pride 2011..."Freak" is about the misconceptions of bisexuality and too about offensive name-calling, together with judgements around body art and piercing...available in short and long sleeve only in white.
This tee is based on the stigmas surrounding those who undergo gender reassignment, and gives you an insight on how offensive the word is and into what someone going through the change may be experiencing...available in short and long sleeve only in white.
The first tee I produced took my own face as the subject, addressing the “Colour” strand, which also counts for “Race”; BME was and still is very popular and has sold out as a result! But the next lot to order will have a new and edited back design...available in long and short sleeve only in black.
My second tee (demonstrating the “Religion” strand), fashions a friend of mine...this tee almost made it abroad to its first Spanish customer, although this has been put on hold...there are very real prospects of a tee of this theme being very popular among many religious communities. Available in short and long sleeve only in white.
The third tee takes another very personal subject; my sister - who kindly wrote her very own expressive quote for the protest on the back...this too has been very popular, available in long and short sleeve, only in black.

mancinism design proudly presents: the label campaign!

I’m sure a lot of you are aware of the first section of my Equality & Diversity campaign; “Don’t Label Me”! I’ve been raising awareness of it since the launch of the Mancinism Design website in Nov 2010 during Stonham’s E&D National Event in Cheltenham.

I’ve been doing this by producing my first range of t-shirts, under the name: LefTees, where the basic idea is to take a face, design it into a sticky label, and have a fitting negative / stereotypical label (word) underneath, with the Don’t Label Me logo slapped over it. On the reverse is a flipped silhouette of that face, filled with (personal) words, protesting. I’ve taken the current 9 strands of E&D: Age, Colour (Race), Disability, Gender, Marriage & Civil Partnership, Pregnancy & Maternity, Religion, Sexual Orientation & Transgender.

Since the MD website launch, I’ve been able to hold stalls at several venues / events including Montpellier Fiesta, Springbank Youth Festival and Cotswold / Gay Pride, HWNP (Hesters Way Neighbourhood Project) and Springbank Community Resource Centre…and even begun some official advertising including the Cotswold Pride event guide and an advert on yell.com.

The Label Campaign acts as an umbrella to “Don’t Label Me” and other exciting sections to follow, which including tackling alcohol awareness and gun & knife crime…

the company

Mancinism Design is a home-based graphic design / visual art business, with a diverse range of services; from branding to promotional material, (vector) portraits to t-shit design. Solving the creative needs of fellow start-up businesses to communities, organisations and companies, MD offers to do the third-party legwork as a part of the service, this can be anything from sourcing quotes, research and communication to ordering stationery and even offers competitive printing services. MD offers a very competitive and friendly service, offering discounts to new clients and great after care…

…before I became MD, I had volunteered for various charities and communities, some of which I still do…for the likes of THSU (Tower Hamlets Summer University, now known as Futurversity), TiD (Tolerance in Diversity), Supporting People, Stonham and Cheltenham Borough Council. I still currently volunteer when I can, mainly for Stonham, Springbank Community Resource Centre / Hesters Way Neighbourhood Project and anyone related to these projects.

MD is known for very detailed traditional portraits, clever and witty wordplay, thought-provoking addressing sometimes controversial issues with visual communication.

the mission

The ultimate goal, as ambitious as it seems, is to get everyone to change the way they think and encourage them to challenge any initial judgmental perceptions they may have about each and everyone. Eventually reducing prejudice and ignorance through open-minded teachings. The main goal is an educational one, to open people’s minds allowing them to destroy whatever barriers they have or have encountered.

The Label Campaign being the umbrella over this part of the campaign, in its whole bigger scheme of things, will be designed to destroy stereotypes, alleviate ignorance and teach generations old and new about individualism! This also means going in workplaces or arranging meetings with Managing Directors to discuss their E&D agendas to see how serious they take them and discuss ways to improve them if need be. This could be done by something as simple as modifying their relative documentation and making their workplace play an active part in being vigilant on the matter, to as extreme as undergoing a re-branding to reflect their new message.

We are looking for sponsorship, funding, etc. from any charity / community organisation that has an active interest in dealing with Equality & Diversity, Alcohol Awareness and Gun & Knife Crime.

I am willing to help the organisation with their design needs at a special rate or even voluntarily depending on the level of help they invest.
